Light Walking - The Barber of Seville

Expired

Description

Light Walkers are needed to support our production of The Barber of Seville. Light walkers are a crucial part of the production process, standing in for performers during the light cueing process so that the design team can see how things will work with bodies in the space. It is an excellent way to get a behind the scenes look at the creation of an opera!

About The Barber of Seville:  Rosina is young, clever, and wealthy, but her greedy guardian desires her and her fortune for himself. Using her wits to outsmart him and find her true love, she enlists Figaro, the mischievous and well-connected local barber, who has more than a few tricks up his sleeve. Plans go awry (resulting in several close shaves) against the backdrop of Gioachino Rossini’s iconic score as romance and a little old-fashioned trickery combine in one of the best-loved comedies of all time.

For Barber, light walkers must be able to stand for extended periods of time on a raked floor. Close-toed shoes are required onstage for safety.

As a "thank you" for light walking, all light walkers will receive the opportunity to attend a Dress Rehearsal of The Barber of Seville on Thursday, May 1 at 11:00a plus the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for performances using our "Friends and Family" discount.

PLEASE NOTE: All light walking sessions take place at The Ordway in Saint Paul, MN. Volunteers must provide their own transportation (including parking).
